He is a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya and holds multiple engineering degrees and professional certifications. Dr. Kandiah directs water resources programs and actively contributes to several engineering societies. He is the recipient of the AEESP Distinguished Service Award and the AAEES Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science Education Award.
